Root to Crown is located on ancestral Očhéthi Šakówiŋ and Wahpekute land of the Dakota and Anishinaabe people.

We thank the Indigenous Peoples for stewarding these Lands for generations.  
We pay respect to the Elders, past, present, and future.
We acknowledge that we occupy and participate in exploitation of Land that are not native to us.

We also acknowledge our Indigenous African ancestors who were forcibly removed from their lands
and subjected to violence to build what is now known as the United States.

As an organization, we advocate for Land Back and Indigenous Sovereignty.
