EMDR Standard Protocol

"This approach systematically hears the client's untold story from infancy and repairs it in the imagination, following several preparatory steps where needed" Per Sandra Paulsen.
Somatic-Informed EMDR
"Somatic work is related to mindful awareness. It may include grounding, expanding the person’s window of tolerance through engaging in life enhancing resources, tracking mindfully in a moment to moment way what is happening in the body." Per Sandra Paulsen.

An EMDR Certified Therapist™ has voluntarily met standards of consultation, clinical practice, and continuing education to provide EMDR therapy. An EMDR Certified Therapist has engaged in at least 20 hours of consultation with an EMDR Consultant for EMDR and has practiced their skills with at least 25 different clients in at least 50 EMDR sessions. An EMDR Certified Therapist is committed to fulfill ethical standards and is engaged in continuing education. To maintain this certification, a therapist must continue to satisfy the EMDRIA requirement including completion of continuing education requirements and adherence to ethical standards.
EMDRIA Certified Therapist™, applicants must have three years of experience with EMDR after completing an EMDRIA™ Approved EMDR Basic Training Program, have conducted at least 300 clinical sessions in which EMDR was utilized, and have received 20 hours of consultation-of-consultation from an EMDRIA Approved Consultant™. They must complete twelve hours of continuing education in EMDR every two years to continue to hold this credential.
