Root to Crown Financial Policies
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Root to Crown requires 48 hours notice for all appointment cancellations and rescheduling requests. Changes can be made during your therapy appointment, via email or by calling 612-351-0108.
Appointments canceled/rescheduled less than 48 hours in advance, as well as no-show appointments, will be charged the full fee of the appointment to the card on file. This policy applies to all appointments, for both new and existing patients.
I ask that you prepare for your appointments by contacting me well in advance if you need to make adjustments to your appointment time or date. My cancellation policy is in place to value my time and guarantee my income, and is non-negotiable. Thank you for understanding and honoring the policy.
Payment
Payment is due 24 hours prior to time of service. Forms of payment accepted include: debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express), and HSA/FSA cards, VIA IVYPAY. I also accept Loveland and NQTTCN vouchers.
Insurance
Root to Crown Healing & Wellness is not in-network with any health insurance companies, and I do not bill insurance for services provided. If your insurance company covers out-of-network billing for therapy services, I am happy to provide you with a receipt (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
All services provided that will be submitted for out-of-network health insurance reimbursement with a superbill must be charged at the full and regular appointment fee. Superbills are not available for reduced rate, if being submitted to health insurance.
The Why
Root to Crown is out of network with all insurance companies, and is a fee-for-service provider. Choosing to bypass insurance allows me to work with you in a way that I find more effective than what insurance sometimes limits. Insurance companies are able to dictate many aspects of a client’s treatment, including but not limited to: what therapist a client is able to see (example: only an in-network provider that may not have the specialty that the client is needing), how many therapy sessions they are allowed to have based on diagnosis (despite not actually knowing anything about the client’s life or therapeutic needs), the requirement of having a diagnosis (which can often times be stigmatizing or limiting to the client in the future). The Diagnostic and Statistic Manual of Mental Health Disorders 5th edition (DSM5) is heavily rooted in white supremacy, and can be stigmatizing. Unfortunately, diagnosis when shared with an insurance provider can limit an individual in the future and can follow them for their entire lives (example: when joining the military or Peace Corps).
Reduced Rates- Therapy Fund and Sliding Scale
Everyone deserves healing - but systemic biases and institutional racial and economic injustice create a reality where healing is inaccessible for many. To honor my value of healing accessibility, reduced therapy appointment rates are available to BIPOC-identified clients with financial barriers. The Root to Crown Abundance Therapy Fund allows community members to assist in sponsoring Black, brown, Indigenous, and people with melanated skin who have financial barriers to receive therapy services from Root to Crown Healing & Wellness, LLC. At Root to Crown, we believe that all humans are deserving of high quality mental health care, and that economic class status should not be a barrier to receiving those services.
Root to Crown has developed the Abundance Therapy Fund because it is so important because it allows all clients, regardless of wealth, to be able to access the same quality of services. All humans deserve mental health care.
Thank you,
-Cassie

- Appointments are considered canceled and forfeited 10 minutes after the appointment time without advance notice, and the full fee will be charged to the card on file per the policy. Please contact me via phone or email if you are running late.
- Cancellation fees will not be waived for cancellations within 48 hours of the appointment time. Although we are a compassionate field and understand financial difficulties we are still professionals, requiring payment for services. This policy was created very intentionally to allow me to show up for clients as a therapist who is present and not burnt out. I have tried to be very intentional about the practice of anti-capitalism, and a big part of that for me is to not exploit myself or others.
